LJ suckitude

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Having no notifies on LJ really sucks; I only now discovered Sirona had a tag from Cyborg for almost 22 hours...

I got most notifies from Teja's EP last night, but none from the older threads that are still alive. So if you have tagged one of mine and I haven't replied, poke me here: - for one, I might get notifies for this new post, and secondly, I know where this is and can check!

Thanks!
While the fabulous [info - personal] samvara is still on well-deserved vacation, this week's update is brought to you by [info - personal] rustler. This post may also be found on the Archive of Our Own which is commentable by anyone with or without an AO3 account. Comments are disabled elsewhere so discussion may be concentrated in one place.

Hello fellow roleplayers. I have returned once more with a tale from a dressing room.

As we all know, dressing rooms aren't exactly the most amazing places to RP and tend to spout the most bullshit players we know-- but I have never known them to be the breeding grounds of OCs.

I have an interview on thursday at Saint Rose Siena 8D

Matt used to live by there XD

I might have to keep starbucks on at least until the end of the year or roughly to the middle of January. Especially since school is just ending and I'll have a month or so of not doing anything XD

At any rate, yaaaay.

In the meantime....when I should be working on my stupid map....XD I'm drawing Zoro and Sanji. Not....not like that. XD Sorry. They're just busts.

EDIT: Here we go.

There are many things I should be doing right now, but I'm actually too panicked to do them (and I got a lot done today! just not the one specific thing that is panicking me) so I decided to celebrate/distract myself from feeling sick/&c by finishing up my extremely haphazard Stargate Atlantis rewatch. Although for s5 "rewatch" is a misnomer, because I hadn't seen any of these before.

( The Daedelus Variations, The Shrine, Remnants, Vegas, and Enemy at the Gate: hey, they all looked watchable when I read the wiki summaries. )

So, my fellow RPer, you are aware that we are nearing the end of our particular plotline. You are aware that everyone is wrapping up the individual stories associated with this plotline. You sent out an email to the whole group asking for something to do with your security character.
My character is currently in dire straits elsewhere in the same space station, with no other character that isn't involved to help her out. I emailed you with a proposal to have your character help mine. I could write her out of it myself, but I figured I'd be nice and we could do a post together to wrap it up.
You respond with an enthusiastic response, and an idea to leave for a later storyline. More than I wanted, but still kind of a neat idea. We spend the week (as this is a very slow-moving game) hashing out plot points, and you finally send me a portion of a post that... really has nothing to do with the actual plot but a lot to do with our idea. Okay. I work it into a longer post linked to the actual events and send what I have to you for approval and your additions and editing. You send me a response saying that you had computer problems, but would be able to get at least your opinion to me in a day or two.
That was a week ago. I've heard nothing since, everyone else is discussing where to go next, and my character is still in dire straits. I know you have a Blackberry that you can access your email on, your computer was supposed to be back from the shop last week, and there are multitudes of libraries and cybercafes that you can go to in order to send me a fast, one-sentence email saying that I'll need to take care of it myself because RL just whomped you good instead of leaving me dangling like this.
Thanks a lot. See if I ever write a post with you again.

Texas forever.

It doesn't even all fit!
Age: 15
Sex: female

Info: Aisu's name in Japanese translates to Aisu (Ice) Tsumetai (Cold) Kooru (Freeze). Assume unless otherwise stated, that Aisu has some kind of sucker, tootsie-pop, or other kind of hard-candy-on-a-stick poking out of her mouth.

Your result for The Metaphysician Test...

The Thelemite

You scored xxx Materialism and yyy Phenomenology!

"For there are no Gods but Man"-Aleister Crowley

That sure doesn't stop you from communing with them. You are the Thelemite, committed to the Western occult tradition of Spare, the Golden Dawn, Crowley etc. Though you lead a life of elaborate ritual, you realize that truth and falsehood in this ritual are irrelevant distinctions: the only thing that matters is what works.

Now if you just loosen up a bit, you could cross the Chasm of Choronzon.

Thinkers you may agree with: Osman Spare, Aleister Crowley, Robert Anton Wilson
Thinkers that may challenge you: Phil Hine, Peter Carroll

GOOD THINGS.
  • I go home on Saturday 8D
  • And then I will see [info]barthi and Male BFF for a Saturday night out, yaaay!
  • Plus tomorrow I'm going out for a meal at Pizza Express with a bunch of friends from my course. More yaaay.
  • Remembered to grab a copy of the uni newspaper at last (for the cover story re some anti-student graffiti which I've been meaning to send to Passive-Aggressive Notes) and, upon sitting down to read it, I discovered that my campus was formerly a CONVENT. NUNS. NUNS MAY HAVE DIED HERE! There should be fic where a small uni is haunted by a load of ghostly murderous nuns and Sam and Dean save the day, am I right? I am definitely right.
  • Chocolate digestiiiives!
  • I had a dream about Psych last night. ALREADY. I was Shawn. I cannot even describe what happened. Just know that it involved crackers.

BAD THINGS.
  • I haven't started my cultural theory essay yet. BUT THAT'S OKAY. I am looking forward to writing it, just so I can rub my metaphorical stiletto heel in Theodor Adorno's whiny, whiny corpseface. Me and De Certeau are going to show him. DC is my homeboy. As it were.

Christmas Special

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
The end of the year is almost upon us, and the holidays are bearing down like a freight train, so it must be time for a Christmas sale.

From now until the end of the year, I'm offering special discounts on three of the hardcover books offered on the Signed Books page of my website.

The Meisha Merlin trade hardcover of TUF VOYAGING, with a cover by Michael Komarck and interior illustrations by Janet Aulisio, normally sells for $29.

The Bantam Spectra hardcover reissue of WINDHAVEN, my collaboration with Lisa Tuttle, sells for $26 on the website.

And INSIDE STRAIGHT, first volume in Tor's new Wild Cards triad, goes for $27.

You can also get all three of these books for $69.

But those are the normal prices. From now through the end of the year, as a Christmas special, I'm offering each of the hardcovers for $20, or all three for $57.

Those prices include Book Rate (Media Mail) shipping within the United States. If you would prefer Priority Mail, please add $5 for a single book, or $10 for more than one. Overseas and out-of-country shipping is more; please inquire.

And of course I'm always willing to sign and inscribe the books.

Happy holidays, and good reading.

Note from the Assistant's desk:

Please email grrmbooks@gmail.com with questions regarding ordering or international shipping rates.

Dear Vampire-Queen-Goddess-Immortal-Admin of the RPG,

Your way of showing you like members of the RP is charming, but I'd rather not be vamp-raped. Your way of showing you hate someone's character for no reason is even more charming. OOC grudges? Oh, please. The best RPer that's left of the group breaks character constantly to talk about modern movies and books inside of a Medieval RP world. You've successfully driven everyone else away by nurturing these people.

No thanks,

Me.

P.S.: Your character sure had a penchant for getting kidnapped and made to be a damsel in distress. Are your amazing BS powers only there when you don't feel like losing a fight?

Well, this will be fun. )
