Random post is random!

So...who thinks Mary Anne should come down with the flu and become convinced she's chosen by God to save France? I have Fun Ideas involving illness versus tarot powers.

Am working on getting caught up on tags. Made the mistake of sleeping in my contacts last night which left me with ridonkulous light sensitivity for most of the day. Watched movies with a blanket over my head.

Pretty sure I've come up with my most ambitious cosplay idea to date. It's not something I'd be able to do in the coming year, maybe for the year after, because it's going to be architectural as much as sewing and will involve armor and all kinds of crazy shit. But as far as I know, nobody's done it before and that needs to change. Plus I picked up canon again this week and remembered just how much I love the character. (Vague Kat is vague! XD But you're welcome to try and guess.)

Um...those are all my thoughts for now, but there's always a decent chance for music later. Peace out, kids.

July 2nd, 2009

Because nothing says THREE DAY WEEKEND BITCHES like meme time!!

PICK ONE OF MY CHARACTERS AND I WILL TELL YOU:
→ why I decided to play this character
→ my favorite scene or bit of interaction concerning this character to date
→ my favorite original aspect about this character (world-building for ocs or head-canon for fcs)
→ the last thing they did "off screen"
→ what their last words would be if they died tomorrow
→ what the next thing I'm doing for them is (narrative, post, shelving, whatever)

BONUS ROUND:
» I will tell you what character of yours I'd like to play mine against
» you may ask me a free question ♥

And there will be that ten sexy people pic!meme later, now that I have the patience for html.

I am so damn tired, but I have to share this song.

It's become my theme for the latest round of Mary Anne-Ramon unfun hijinks (warning for violence).

I always thought "White Wedding" was a catchy song but this cover is so deliciously melancholy that it's like a whole different piece of music. Give it a listen; you won't regret it.

And now, I need to sleep. Damn you, 8 AM meetings.

December 24th, 2008

I had a little bit of an early Christmas present today, so here's one for you.

Five Times Artemis Went Shopping (and one time she didn't)

the time she didn't comes first )

The others are in progress, I assure you.

Also, in case you happen to see the Armani Code fragrance commercial on tv and feel a certain deja-vu, that would be because the girl in said commercial is none other than Mini Anden (aka Artemis' PB). Trust me, it's weirding me out, too.

December 15th, 2008

Okay, Artemis' PB? Is a model. Who is in an ep of NCIS as a model on a reality show on a Marine base, where one of the other models was forcibly OD'd.

I think what's weirding me out the most is that Mini Anden's voice sounds higher than I'd always imagined Artemis' voice, so it feels like all her lines are dubbed.

Just wanted to share that. (Also, said ep is on USA right now, if anyone else would like to share in my WHUT.)

October 11th, 2008

*tears out hair*

So last night, the internet at the house decided to taunt me by DYING. I'm now back with a vengeance and those Milliversary EPs are going up tonight, so help me God.

Also, because I am determined to inflict pain and humiliation on my girls, does anyone have any suggestions for something Artemis could karaoke? She did Ani Difranco's "Not a Pretty Girl" last time around, but I'm looking for something else. Suggestions much appreciated.

And now I need to go to the grocery store, but before I forget, HOOK 'EM, HORNS!!

PS - EYESHIELD WATCHERS!! The Texas-Oklahoma game is on and apparently there's an ex-baseball player on the Texas team, who just made a phenomenal diving catch. Irony MAX!!!

October 3rd, 2008

Sooo...much as I'm terrified I'll jinx it by talking about it, I had a job interview today and I think it went very well. We'll see how it goes from here.

In other news, I'm looking forward to screencapping the hell out of Iron Man. Can we say redone LJ layout? Why, yes we can.

Heard this song (lyrics here) while I was driving home from the interview and now I can't stop listening to it.

On a tangental note: hey, Downsiders! Don't suppose I could get a Will over here? (I blame this on the fact that I have a craving for Red Dragon and Doll will not shut up.) This post is also good for anybody else who wants a post-Chainsaw Dollface; I just kinda felt like it'd be spamming [info]mixed_muses, so I figured I'd plead here.

My brain is kind of a melted puddle right now (three hours back and forth in the car will do that to a girl) but I swear *KAMINA FIST* that I will entrance post one or both of my girls this weekend. Anybody in particular care to synchronize our threading watches? ([info]varadia: the 494-X-Bela thing killed me. Cannot decide which of the girls would be more helpful least disastrous for her to talk to.)

Aaaaand...I've run out of interesting things to say. Tell me something interesting.

EDIT: This was totally supposed to be up last night, but LJ shit the bed and I had to sleep. *shakes fist of anger*

August 12th, 2008

Okay, this is gonna be a big fat (but less filling) RP post. Feel free to skip.

[info]milliways_bar folken! In case you haven't taken a look at the Back Room in the past few minutes, WE HAVE A JOKER. My little fangirl heart skipped a beat. (Also, this means that I don't have to write my masturbatory exercise of a fanfic in order to get my fix of him and Mary Anne interacting. This doesn't mean I'm done with said masturbatory exercise, however.)

Also, this next bit is for all y'all on the old flist who know about Downside. More specifically, Chainsaw. Guess who met Mary Anne today. The trainwreck continues here.

And now I need to crash so I can get up and go to Busch Gardens tomorrow, but FUCK YEAH INTERNETS. My night is made.

August 1st, 2008

Back at home and loving it. Am going to try and do some more fabric cutting tomorrow, since I need to start sewing like...sometime in the past. Just ordered the wig and boots for Nero, which were my last outstanding pieces, so that should provide some motivation.

Saw The Dark Knight with my mom tonight; squeed in all the old familiar places and also got to sooth what I can only describe as a Joker craving. Had the boy on my mind a lot this past weekend, which lead to the infestation of a plotbunny where he and Mary Anne meet. Somebody talk me out of putting off writing this.

Also got a plotbunny for Artemis stuck on the Marvel!verse side of the door after a visit to scope Tony's house. There is nothing written down yet, but there is a Target run, a motorcycle theft and a lot of sarcasm.

My god, I just realized how many fandomsecret posts I have to get caught up on. I think I'll do that next if I don't write something first. Also, there are new subbed episodes of Eyeshield I haven't seen. This must be corrected.

One last thing: I'm over here at the Character Rating Meme. Tell me who I am, kids!

July 12th, 2008

Fun fact: watching American Psycho with The Dark Knight release right around the corner is profoundly creepy. In a fun way, but creepy all the same.

It has, however, inspired me to start rereading all of Mary Anne's threads with Patrick which is delicious (and just a little disturbing) nostalgia trip.

Speaking of my girl, I'm going to try and pitch her back in the bar tomorrow night. Came up with this OOM as her alibi for where she's been for the past month. [info]fightingthecage, obviously she's not going to find him without your say so (mostly I concocted this as a legit reason for her to be gone so long) but if you'd like to work her hunt for him in with your own plottage, give me a shout out.

...I think there was going to be more to this post, but I forgot it. Played the crap out of FFXII tonight and defeated the two demonic walls in the Tomb of SomeGuy. I think I'm gonna have some icecream and then call it a night.

Also, should be picking up my new sewing machine tomorrow; can't wait for us to get acquainted.

EDIT: Just finished rereading the MA-Patrick threads. I think the most fun one would be the dance at The Masquerade, where they realized they could never actually hook-up without killing each other before they got to the sex. Their last thread, though, broke my fucking heart. They were crazy sons of bitches together, but I loved them.

July 8th, 2008

I think I had a dream last night where Tony Stark accidently shot Artemis in the chest with some weapon he was testing out for the Iron Man suit. He was kind of flipping out (because for some reason he hadn't really caught on to the whole goddess thing) and she was just trying to convince him it'd be fine if he could just help her get the crossbow bolt-looking-thing out of her sternum. It was kind of adorable in this terribly awkward way. As for having them on the brain, I blame staying up way too late last night working on this.

On a totally unrelated note, this article made me squee all over the place--Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard nerding out over the music they wrote for The Dark Knight. I think I'm going to have to wait until after I've seen the movie before I buy the score, I think, or I'm going to be too distracted by the music instead of...all the other shiny things I'm going to have to be distracted by. (Also, I've got my tickets for midnight, do you?)

Also, think I've found my new sewing machine, so I just need to get the graduation money into my account and make it spendable. Then, there can be sewing for great justice!

And finally, because it's way overdue, music pimp!

Danny Elfman - The Little Things : AKA the incredibly catchy song from Wanted. This song makes me geek out a little harder for Danny, since I've always known he could kick ass musically, but this song lets us let me know he can sing.

Gnarls Barkley - Necromancer : a deliciously twisted song from the boys that brought us "Crazy." Lienne & Adiva--it reminds me a bit of Chainsaw.

Puscifer - Rev. 22:20 (dry martini mix) : a pared down, piano heavy version of the original. If the first one was a sexy club and a girl who could part the crowds with her hips, then this one is after you've gotten that girl home.

My Chemical Romance - I Never Told You What I Do For A Living : just what we always wanted from our wacky little goth punk rockers--a song about being a serial killer.

The Orion Experience - The Cult of Dionysus : aside from having a psiTunes-worthy band name, this song is damn catchy and the lyrics are in no way inspiring fanfic.

I've also got a copy of the Iron Man soundtrack and I think one of my favorite things has to be the cheeseball theme song from the 60s cartoon. It has the word SMITIN' in it, people.

Alright, off to get caught up on the internets. Catch you on the flipside.

March 13th, 2008

So, today was my last day of class in my last winter quarter as an undergraduate. I feel like I should muse on the meaning of that, but I'd rather talk about something shinier and more argumentative.

You know how 6Apart used to make policy changes and stealthily slide them past us and hope we wouldn't notice? Well, it appears that SUP BITCHES? was hoping they could utilize their superior Soviet stealth technology and no one would notice that

THERE ARE NO MORE BASIC ACCOUNTS.

That's right, kids. Your options are now tits or gtfo 'ads' or 'pay up.' And doesn't that just fill you with the warm and fuzzies toward the new management?

Naturally, a shitstorm of comments is already brewing over in [info]news; I'll be keeping an eye on it to bring you the good meta and the epic lulz.

In unrelated news, I actually got around to participating in todays DE post in the backroom. My contributions are Apollo and Artemis at a bus stop and Dean Winchester meets Artemis. (And based on that last one in particular, I'm having breeding-plotbunny-thoughts about her in the SPN!verse and hunting and hunters and what that means there and general giddiness.)

For now, I think I'm going to skim over the news post and then watch some mindless internet!TV while having a snack. Eventually, there will be laundry. What're y'all up to?

February 18th, 2008

Minipost powers, activate!

Am slogging through a paper, so it's going to be a late night. Just wanted to let anybody who missed it know about this post. Anybody looking to thread with my girls in the next few days is welcome to tag. I know there's a few of you I've had the 'oh, we should totally thread SoAndSo-SuchAndSuch' (*flutters eyelashes at [info]varadia*) and am hoping to use this post as a springboard to get some of those started. Also, I figure if I can keep most of my threads in one place this week, I'll be better about tagging.

Alright, now back to the reading, with a side of fudge.

February 14th, 2008

Random post!

I have roses. They make me happy.

I also have a heart-shaped cookie. There will be nomming in the near future.

The boyfriend gets here tomorrow, and will be here for about a week. Should be still online plenty, though, as stretching my legs on the interwebs helps maintain my mental health.

65daysofstatic - Aren't We Running? : my unofficial theme song for the Thy Kingdom Come plot. I'd also like to offer up the song that got me hooked on these guys, Drove Through Ghosts to Get Here.

Speaking of which, Mary Anne has not, in fact, escaped unscathed from TKC. Will be making that post shortly.

I have to work on my midterm tonight and I don't wanna. Distract me.

EDIT: Why, with new Torchwood from last night AND new Supernatural tonight, WHY ARE YOU LETTING ME DOWN, SURF THE CHANNEL?! YOU ARE KILLING MY HIGH!!

January 23rd, 2008

Okay, this is the result of a plotbunny that bit me in the middle of class this afternoon and I've been nudging it along all evening. Not quite sure where it came from, but it came on strong.

(Also, I recommend having these two.)

This? Is 100% pure Ashie's Fault (except for the part that's mine).

This is what happens when we're left alone to plot and scheme and make comparisons between Kit-MA and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Which naturally lead to discussion of the 'destroy the house and have sex in it' scene.

Which lead to discussion of smut.

Which lead to a request for smut.

Which lead to this.

So all you really need to know is this is a porntastic snapshot of Kit and Mary Anne as Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Trust me. It works.

You stupid son of a bitch. )

RUIN IS ON PAULA DEEN.

I'M SO AFRAID HE'S GOING TO JUST--OH GOD SHE'S FEELING HIS CHEST

SOMEONE ELSE TURN ON FOOD NETWORK AND SHARE IN MY DEEP DEEP TRAUMA.

WHEN I CAN TEAR MY EYES FROM THE SCREEN, I WILL ADD MUSIC TO THIS POST, TO SOOTH MY PAIN.

NOW THEY ARE ZESTING LEMONS. WHAT THE FUCK, WORLD. WHAT. THE. FUCK.

January 2nd, 2008

Because I'm lazy/in a hurry to get caught up on my interwebs, I'm keeping this post as short and sweet as humanly possible.

Christmasversary is a great holiday. Especially when your boyfriend personalizes M&Ms for you and has great taste in jewelry.

I remembered more about skiing than I thought, except for the second day when I mysteriously forgot how to turn right without falling over. After that, all was well. Especially when I had to break hard right at a turn on the trail, crashed into a snowdrift and flipped upside down. That was awesome.

Also, the Belgian sugar waffle is God's gift to mankind.

I need to write up the app for [info]untiedtheknots. Y'all have permission to badger me until I do.

I want need to play more FFXII. Must stock up on Balthier (and Basch, and Fran) goodness before I go back to school.

Write! You and I have plotting to do. *does not Mwahahahahaha. Yet.*

Aaand I'm going to do a little more internet catch-up, not the least of which should be replying to some glacially slow slowtimes. What have y'all been up to in my absence?

Oh, and you can bet your asses there will be a music pimp post in the very near future. I have a ton and a half of awesome shit to share with y'all.

December 3rd, 2007

Related to the footnote in my last post, and given that my damn paper is finished (the only one I have to write this week, thank god), it's time to use my poll feature!

The Random Fact Generator is going to be the death of me...especially since I started putting in Mary Anne's name.

- The most honorable way of dying is taking a bullet for Mary Anne Bell. This amuses Mary Anne Bell because she is bulletproof.

- Ghosts are actually caused by Mary Anne Bell killing people faster than Death can process them.

- Most boots are made for walkin'. Mary Anne Bell's boots ain't that merciful.

- The grass is always greener on the other side, unless Mary Anne has been there. In that case the grass is most likely soaked in blood and tears.

- Mary Anne can hit you so hard that she can actually alter your DNA. Decades from now your descendants will occasionally clutch their heads and yell "What The Hell was That?"

- When Mary Anne sends in her taxes, she sends blank forms and includes only a picture of herself, crouched and ready to attack. Mary Anne has not had to pay taxes, ever.

- Bill Gates lives in constant fear that Mary Anne's PC will crash.

- Give a man a fish, and you will feed him for a day. Give a man anything that is better than a fish, and Mary Anne will beat his ass and take it.

- Mary Anne invented the bolt-action rifle, liquor, sexual intercourse, and football--in that order.

And in the end, two three that were just too appropriate to be funny:

- Q: How many Mary Anne Bell's does it take to change a light bulb?
A: None, Mary Anne Bell prefers to kill in the dark.

- Mary Anne doesn't go hunting.... Mary Anne goes killing.

- Mary Anne puts the laughter in manslaughter.
